HK 2010 Day 3: Macau

It takes like forever for my com to upload that few pics, which explains why I'm still not yet done blogging abt my HK trip.

This trip to Macau, I was super excited. Two reasons for that: One particular scene in Boys Over Flowers made me fell totally for that romantic place. If you've watched that show, you would roughly guessed which scene I was referring to. The other reason being Venetian Macau is my co's sister company, so my curiousity over it naturally arose. The only casino we patronised was Venetian as we didn't have time for others and we were quite satisfied with Venetian so no casino-hopping for us.

Breakfast at Tsui Wah Restaurant again..
Their famous Polar Bun with iced butter!
I don't think we have this served in sg right? Even crystal jade's polar bun is nowhere near this taste.

With our tummys filled, we set off to HK China Ferry Terminal to catch CotaiJet to Macau! Cotai Jet is one of the many jets that'll bring you to Macau. MBS staff are entitled 50% discount to Cotai Jet rides, that's why we chose them. However, Cotai Jet docks at Taipa Ferry Terminal which is further away from the main casinos.

The jet ride was quite bumpy at first, bobbing up and down.

But it puts you to sleep real well cos it feels like a rocking chair, rocking you to dreamland

After an hour plus of boat ride and customs-clearing, here we arrive at Macau!
Free shuttle bus service that sends you from the jetty to their casino. Most of the bigger casinos there provide such services..

The bus travelling over the Friendship Bridge.
I didn't know that Sands Macau and Venetian Macau looked so different until I saw it for myself.
Sands looked so cheena-ish from the outside..

Grand-looking Venetian.

At the Shoppes with the canal in the rear.
I was expecting the gondola-man to sing the song while rowing the gondola, but nope, there's no song coming from him at all, so we didnt take a ride. The scene was really nice and romantic though
what an inspirational shot. haha

My fav pic of the Shoppes canal.

The casino floor.. It's so much bigger than MBS!

After a brief walk in the casino, we ventured outside to visit the main streets. It was a hot hot day at Macau, just like that of Sentosa's weather. And we were so garung, we walked for a gd 20mins to St Paul's, cabbing nv came across our minds

Pretty flooring

The buildings are still well-preserved with the dutch-like feel

We walked about searching for food, then we saw queues at the famous pork bun shop that was featured in the Boys Over Flowers scene.
Just bcos of that, it went famous overnight

We finally made it to the ruins of St Paul after a long walk. This place I reckon is always full of ppl and tourists no matter the time of the day.

Atop the building, from the view of St Paul ruins.

After looking around the streets of Macau, we're back to Venetian again to try our gambling luck. It was a no-go at the tables, but when it comes to the slots which larling insisted to play, he won HKD400 within 5mins! haha. Not too bad for beginner's luck!

Dinner was back at Mongkok's Sha Die Wang , a pirate-themed restaurant.
This restaurant is quite well-known in HK I guess, with several branches all over HK. But I would rate their food as average only

On the way back to hotel, how could we forget a cup of Gong Cha..
It's super yummilicious!
Best milk tea ever!

Our route back to hotel every night from Ladies Market Street

Convenient H&M shopping just in the vicinity of our hotel!

Anticipating to visit Macau soon again, and this time I shall lodge accomodation with Venetian Macau!

HK 2010 Day 2: Wong Tai Sin Temple/Causeway Bay/Elements/Toilet Bowl Restaurant

Breakfast was at Tsui Wah Restaurant which is famous for their 鱼蛋粉 but they don't serve it before 10am, so we had to give it a miss since we have no extra time to spare.

We decided to visit Wong Tai Sin temple this time. Larling told me that this is the temple whereby in some HK shows, those ppl would throw their wishes tied to oranges up a huge wishing tree. But we can't seem to find the tree.

Since larling wore yellow that day, so I made him take a photo with the yellow pillar at the mtr.
So cute. haha

The main entrance..
But I don't see any 'WONG TAI SIN' signage, so we kept wondering if we went to the right temple. lol. But couldnt be wrong since it's the only huge temple that we see once we step out of the MTR.

It's so wierd praying for a divination lot while the altar is still undergoing upgrading works.

Zen

We donated HKD 10 voluntarily to enter this portion of the temple.
Voluntarily bcos there's no one watching and you can actually just walk in without paying the money at all.

"我送你离开千里之外你无声黑白
沉默年代或许不该太遥远的相爱
我送你离开天涯之外你是否还在
琴声何来生死难猜用一生去等待"

After a very brief tour and being bitten by many commando-mosquitoes, we left the temple and headed to Causeway Bay. We first shopped around at upmarket SOGO but realised it was way too artas for our liking. Simple apparels can ridiculously go up to hundred bucks.. no wonder it closed shop in sg. So we went over to Times Square for better shopping.

Tea-break at Agnes B cafe. Last year we wanted to give it a try but we didn't have the time, so this time, we cannot miss it again!

Larling said this cafe was featured in Leo Ku's MTV - 劲歌金曲2 - 情歌王

Their drinks and desserts are closely priced to that of Starbucks. But I'll definitely choose Agnes B. Someone please bring their franchise to sg!

Chocolate praline cake. Very nice.

Elements @ Kowloon was next.
A zhnged SLK placed in the middle of Elements. If this car is ever driven out, it has to be guarded, if not all its crystals will be stripped off

We took a rest after walking long and round the huge Elements mall. It's named Elements bcos the mall is divided into 5 sections - 金, 木, 水, 火, 土. A map is really needed to locate the store that you're looking for.

Little Prince!

Back to hotel to put our stuff and have a rest before heading down to dinner.
When we got back to our room, everything was prettily put in order by housekeeping. Love their service.

The rainshower I was referring to.

Enjoying the sunset right before our eyes

And larling fell asleep

Dinner was at toilet-themed restaurant right opposite our hotel. It's a franchise from Taiwan; last time my bro brought back a urinal-waterbottle for me from taiwan, but HK's franchise doesn't sell any souvenirs. Their food wasn't that fantastic, but it's something new to sit on toilet bowls while eating, and drink from urinal-like cups

"Can I wash my face with the huge sink?"

Warning for ppl who can't resist to shit whenever they sit on toilet bowls.

Honey milk tea in toiletbowl-shaped mug

Even their lamps are shaped like shit

Baked rice having a good soak in bathtub

We ended the night with a stroll at 女人街. Cheap iPhone casings are everywhere. And I bought 4 of them, which 3 was for my bro.. should have gotten more. We bought HK dramas too.. cheap with good quality. Again, should have bought more but luckily I didn't bcos my small luggage was exploding during my last day. I even had to borrow space from larling's luggage. Should have brought my huge samsonite luggie..
Next post.. MACAU!!
