Our first mega D&D

It wasn't those kind of sit-down-being-served-by dinner in a posh ballroom, but rather was a buffet-styled D&D held in our own convention hall so as to cater to the huge headcount of approx 500 tables. Yes I know that's quite huge a number if my estimation is accurate.

There's performances including our own Talent Competition. There's aplenty of wierd talent in our workforce, not very surprising given the huge pool of people we have from all sort of countries. But I'm quite impressed by the Filipinos - all of them can sing and dance real well like natural performers.

Overall it was quite a boring event other than the singing competition. We struggled to stay till the end cos we wanted to wait for the lucky draw results. The lucky draw prizes weren't very attractive yet we stayed nevertheless (cheapskate us). After 5 hrs of waiting, we went home empty-handed. Serve us right.

Since it's the season for giving, our office organised a gift-exchange cum tea-break session on the same day. We draw lots to choose the person whom we are suppposed to give the pressie to, and it's suppose to be a secret for the recipient to guess who's the sender.

I love this gift-exchange idea..
cos I received a cute eeyore dressed in ong-lye clothes
HUAT AH!!

Huat zai please bring me more cash inflow in the coming year!

On top of onglye eeyore, there's one more sheepish cushion for me!

I guess the sender must be a female, guys wouldn't be so sweet to buy such girlie items

My hum sup neighbour colleague who forced me to take a photo with him
Don't you think he look exceptionally teeko?

Back to the D&D..
The stage is so far away that I can only see from the projector screen

Santa, tinman and tinprincess on stilts
Everyone's taking pics with them like they are some celebrities

My team..
Half of them went off to take pics without jio-ing us, leaving us to guard the table like some fools.
Oh well..

Best bud for life

The last time I met Cheryl was in late 2009? We attempted many times to meet up so that I can pass her the bday pressie but she was always busy with studies and work. So we finally arranged a date where both of us are free and we exchanged bday pressies! Her present was 9 months' late and I thought I could might as well give her next yr's pressie in advance. Haha. Next year I would want to see her more often cos she's one of my bridesmaids who'll accompany for gown fittings and run errands, ya?

Wild Honey for brunch..
Nice ambience, but the food wasn't particularly nice, it's not that kinda place that we would frequent twice
Browsing through their menu on the Ipad

Cheryl's Californian breakfast

One of the presents I got for Cheryl..
Cup cover that has Yuki-look-alike on top, that's the reason for buying for her

Scrambled eggs with tofu on ciabatta

My Belgian waffles with a slice of mango plus blueberries!

Guess where?
Yep.. TOILET!

After that, we went to Sim Lim to check out cameras!
Cheryl needed a new cam, so we went to the place with the most gadgets priced most competitively.
Her new buy..
Very nice retro-looking cam that produces quality results

Happy gal!

Please don't make me wait for another 9 mths to see you again ok my dear! :DD
Besties forever!

Merry Hatchday Pressie!

First blog entry using my new com, Dell Inspiron One series with love from larling for my long-awaited bday pressie! Having pity on my Acer laptop which is struggling to keep up to my needs, he decided to get me a better performing desktop. He chose this specially for me.. with no bulky CPU as it's in-built the monitor, 23-inch LED monitor which is just nice for watching shows. And it's not too overbudget, with $50 discount from the SITEX deal. I simply love it! Now my laptop can retire in peace and forget about having icepacks on it.

Uploading of pics into blogspot and facebook is so much faster now!! Booting up and shutting down is at amazing speed too! haha.. I think my old lappie is super slow that's why it gives me the impression that the new one is damn fast.

My new toy..

On top of that, my Xmas pressie..!!
Although larling cancelled his Europe trip, but I stil got it in Sg!
Thanks my lovely!

So many presents from larling, of course I've to give something back in return..
Reese's cereals anybody?

I'm not that cheapskate ok..
Mont Blanc happy?

Classic Cuffy..
Never go out of fashion and style, just like Chanel's 2.55

Let me end off with a super comical pic from my webcam..

Still in my early 20s

Thanks to those who showered me with gifts and well-wishes on my birthday. Actually I don't really receive gifts nowadays, at most just a dinner celebration.

To me, birthday is just like any other day, and the anticipation for it diminishes as I grow older. Knowing that there'll be no pressies, there's no need to be excited about. Perhaps the only part to look forward to is receiving my big present from larling!

Two birthday cakes, with love from larling and my bro respectively

Just nice daddy was at home to celebrate my birthday!

A simple yet blissful celebration.
Contented.
May all my loved ones be happy always!

Since larling didnt get me any present, I bought myself a new watch! It's so much cheaper online and free delivery right to your doorstep!

Love the signature horseshoe shape of the watch dial

Comes with free keychain as well!

PS: larling shall get me a list of bags from Europe to compensate for the super delayed bday pressie. Muahaha!

Three days of sickness was no fun. It's my first time in life feeling sick for such a prolonged period. My fever went up to 39.1degrees Celsius but all the doc said was :"oh it's nothing serious just the inflammation of throat". I seriously felt like dying but that was all he can say. Stupid doc, made me wait for 1.5hrs yet gave no concrete advice.

Stupid doc, made me wait for 1.5hrs yet gave no concrete advice.

Anyway I'm really thankful to Larling for bringing me dinner and getting groceries like milk and strawberries for me. We initially planned to go USS on my off day and he took leave for that too.. But it was unfortunate that I got the virus. So he went to amk to buy dinner and accompany the sick me. It was really sweet and I appreciate it much. Thanks my dear.. Muacks!

For colleagues who helped to cover my work, I'm really grateful too.. But for those who didn't bother to lend a helping hand, don't expect others to help u in future. To think that I always try to help out in whatever areas I can esp when a person is on mc. Very disappointed.. There are too many selfish ppl in this world, it's really thru the down times that you can see one's character clearly...

HK 2010 Day 3: Macau

It takes like forever for my com to upload that few pics, which explains why I'm still not yet done blogging abt my HK trip.

This trip to Macau, I was super excited. Two reasons for that: One particular scene in Boys Over Flowers made me fell totally for that romantic place. If you've watched that show, you would roughly guessed which scene I was referring to. The other reason being Venetian Macau is my co's sister company, so my curiousity over it naturally arose. The only casino we patronised was Venetian as we didn't have time for others and we were quite satisfied with Venetian so no casino-hopping for us.

Breakfast at Tsui Wah Restaurant again..
Their famous Polar Bun with iced butter!
I don't think we have this served in sg right? Even crystal jade's polar bun is nowhere near this taste.

With our tummys filled, we set off to HK China Ferry Terminal to catch CotaiJet to Macau! Cotai Jet is one of the many jets that'll bring you to Macau. MBS staff are entitled 50% discount to Cotai Jet rides, that's why we chose them. However, Cotai Jet docks at Taipa Ferry Terminal which is further away from the main casinos.

The jet ride was quite bumpy at first, bobbing up and down.

But it puts you to sleep real well cos it feels like a rocking chair, rocking you to dreamland

After an hour plus of boat ride and customs-clearing, here we arrive at Macau!
Free shuttle bus service that sends you from the jetty to their casino. Most of the bigger casinos there provide such services..

The bus travelling over the Friendship Bridge.
I didn't know that Sands Macau and Venetian Macau looked so different until I saw it for myself.
Sands looked so cheena-ish from the outside..

Grand-looking Venetian.

At the Shoppes with the canal in the rear.
I was expecting the gondola-man to sing the song while rowing the gondola, but nope, there's no song coming from him at all, so we didnt take a ride. The scene was really nice and romantic though
what an inspirational shot. haha

My fav pic of the Shoppes canal.

The casino floor.. It's so much bigger than MBS!

After a brief walk in the casino, we ventured outside to visit the main streets. It was a hot hot day at Macau, just like that of Sentosa's weather. And we were so garung, we walked for a gd 20mins to St Paul's, cabbing nv came across our minds

Pretty flooring

The buildings are still well-preserved with the dutch-like feel

We walked about searching for food, then we saw queues at the famous pork bun shop that was featured in the Boys Over Flowers scene.
Just bcos of that, it went famous overnight

We finally made it to the ruins of St Paul after a long walk. This place I reckon is always full of ppl and tourists no matter the time of the day.

Atop the building, from the view of St Paul ruins.

After looking around the streets of Macau, we're back to Venetian again to try our gambling luck. It was a no-go at the tables, but when it comes to the slots which larling insisted to play, he won HKD400 within 5mins! haha. Not too bad for beginner's luck!

Dinner was back at Mongkok's Sha Die Wang , a pirate-themed restaurant.
This restaurant is quite well-known in HK I guess, with several branches all over HK. But I would rate their food as average only

On the way back to hotel, how could we forget a cup of Gong Cha..
It's super yummilicious!
Best milk tea ever!

Our route back to hotel every night from Ladies Market Street

Convenient H&M shopping just in the vicinity of our hotel!

Anticipating to visit Macau soon again, and this time I shall lodge accomodation with Venetian Macau!
