HK 2010 Day 1: Airport Express/Langham Place Hotel/稻香Dimsum/中环/Yung kei restaurant/Agryle Street

Hong Kong again for the second time! But we gave the touristy attractions a miss - The Peak, Madamn Tussads, Avenue of Stars, Ocean Park should be nothing new from last year when we visited. The main focus of this trip is shopping! And we added in Macau too! More of Macau in Day 3. Main highlight of this trip I reckon would be the Airport Express MTR and our hotel Langham Place @ Mongkok.

A Super convenient and cheap avenue to get from Airport to hotel would be their Airport Express MTR. It's like a normal MRT train, but their seats are more comfy in spacious cabins. Most impt of all, it's not crowded at all as it's not their main MTR line. After collecting our luggage from the belt, we went to purchase the MTR package which includes 2-way Airport Express tix and 3 days unlimited travel on their MTR for only HKD300 (refundable deposit of HKD50). Then we proceeded to the MTR station which is just right infront of the arrival hall. Super hassle-free.

On board Airport Express MTR

Enjoyed the 20min journey with the entire cabin to us.

Lunch at 稻香Dimsum Restaurant. We went there previously with KC and Cecilia and it was gd, so must go back again this time. Anyway it's just a 5min walk from our hotel.
Total bill came up to less than SGD10 per pax.

Packed and crowded on a normal wkday, shows how gd it is.

Went to shop at Langham Place shopping mall which is just opposite the hotel before chcking in at 3pm
A Mao Ze Dong-liked statue on the linkway bridge between the mall and the hotel

Finally checked in to our room on the 29th flr..
Mirrors everywhere in the toilet.
Love the concept.. most importantly, they have rainshower heads which I prefer over bathtubs

Soak in the bathtub while watching tv.. that's the use of a see-through bathroom

The next best thing is their king-size bed!
Larling said this was the first time he heard me snore at night. LOL.
That was the best bed I've ever slept on.. it's fluffy and soft like sleeping on cotton candy!

Full-glass windows looking over HK skyline
Sitting on the baywindow

Even the phone is customised to every room/guest.. very impressed.

They have many cool gadgets for their guests..
On the left is actually a wireless phone cum walkie talkie I think.
and they have iHome for your ipod music

They provided us with 7 pillows!! 5 on the bed, and two more in the wardrobe!
Great for pillow fights!

Langham provides free iPad for loan but a deposit equivalent to the price of an iPad is required.

After checking out the room, we continued with our shopping at Central - the Landmark, and Queen's Road which have a 4-storeys H&M! It's gd that Singapore doesnt have H&M so that the chances of bumping into ppl wearing the same clothes as you will be lower!

Then we met larling's colleague and wife for dinner at Yung Kei one-star michelin restaurant. They are famous for their goose dish.. quite yummy but per pax comes up to around SGD30.

Mr Pan and his ex-girlfriend, Mrs Pan

After dinner, Mrs Pan enthusiastically brought me to shopping places in Agryle Street for great buys.. Though it's the first time we met, but her friendliness made me feel as though I've known her for a long time. We bought quite a number of things in a short span of 90 mins.
After they left, we had dessert at Langham's Honeymoon Dessert.. they have a branch here in Singapore Vivocity.
Quite not bad actually, a gd alternative to 许留山

Pretty night view from our room..

Shall blog on Days 2-4 soon..
Gd Nite HK..
